It’s that time of the year again, and I’m not talking about the warm weather and sunshine (although, those are some of the best perks of spring!) — I’m talking about SPRING CLEANING. And like most people, the room that needs the most sifting and sorting through is my closet!
With the help of longtime friend Christos Garkinos, who also happens to be the owner of Decades, an LA-based boutique that specializes in modern and vintage clothing, we went on a trip down memory lane sorting through a bunch of my old stuff.
Do you guys ever catch yourselves saving things for sentimental memories? I think I might be overly guilty of that, but I love looking back at things I wore and having those memories tied to certain items. For example, Christos found the shirt my husband wore on our first date, and instead of selling it or giving it away, he suggested we frame it as a way to preserve that memory. Such a good idea! That’s definitely nostalgia at it’s finest!
We got to chat about investment pieces and which pieces are worth it and which aren’t, which is definitely some good knowledge to keep in the back of your head. Also, Christos taught me an awesome trick to find out what year a Chanel piece was made, which was so cool and definitely will come in handy when shopping at boutique vintage stores.
And after getting rid of a bunch of stuff I don’t wear or use anymore, Christos is also going to help me revamp my style, which I can’t wait for! Check out the video below to see more of how to cash in on the clothes in your closet below.
