There’s nothing I love more than surrounding myself with powerful, successful, beautiful women who inspire me (and others!) to be the boss babes we know we can be! Enter Anastasia Soare, creator of the wildly popular makeup line Anastasia Beverly Hills. I sat down with her to chat about her success story and how she started her company from the ground up as an immigrant from Romania trying to make it in the beauty biz in LA. Here are the top 5 things we can all learn from someone as inspiring as Anastasia!
Be A Role Model
According to Anastasia, everyone wants someone to kind of blaze the trail and to follow in their footsteps — think of it as entrepreneur-spirit-guide. If you don’t have a role model like that, then BE that role model and set the bar high for younger generations to follow in your footsteps in their own way.
Work Hard
You’re not going to see any results if you take the easy way out! Hard work pays off, and while sometimes it may seem like you’re putting in all the effort you can without seeing those results, they will come. As long as you put in the work, you’ll be rewarded, so don’t give up! Keep on that daily grind and it’ll pay off. The harder you work, the “luckier” you’ll get!
Take Care of Your Customers/Clients
If you’re in a service business, you need to make sure your customers are happy. That mentality really goes for ANY business. Keep your customers happy, treat them well, and you’ll see success. It seems like a basic concept, but a lot of people forget this! Think of it as the golden rule of business — treat your clients and customers the way YOU want to be treated.
You Need to Be Passionate
There’s always been a debate in my head about this — if you have the talent, but aren’t passionate about what you’re doing, why are you doing it? Sure, you have to have whatever specific talent you need for your business or craft, but it’s the PASSION that’s really the driving force. If you’re not passionate about your work and what you’re doing, it comes across to everyone.
Stay Humble
Anastasia talked about how being around Oprah really inspired her to give back and to help others as much as possible. Just because you’re successful, doesn’t mean you have to be greedy. Stay humble, give back to the community and to others as much as possible. “To give back, is probably the happiest thing you can do for yourself,” she said. Amen, sista!
