Hey Loves!
So glad to have you back on my blog. It’s the New Year and I am so excited to launch these photos that I took over two weeks ago. Can you guys believe that I have kept a secret for two weeks? It’s been killing me that I couldn’t post these pictures! I hate keeping secrets from you guys and I am so happy that I can finally reveal this photo shoot I did for my “Gold Obsessions” post.
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts online about gold makeup. Some of the looks are great for a haute couture editorial look, but not practical to pull off in real life. You just can’t walk into a party with your eyebrows painted gold or with gold paint on your lips without getting some crazy stares! I teamed up with my glam team Gilbert Muniz and Ani Goulayan to come up with a “golden look” that anyone can rock at their holiday parties or even on the red carpet. Awards show season is around the corner and I have a feeling that we are going to see a lot of gold! And I am not just talking about the awards! I’m predicting a gold rush when it comes to hair, makeup, and designer gowns for the 2017 awards show season.
Here are my pictures that my photographer Azusa Takano took. I wore a short, beautiful dress by Yas Couture from For The Stars Fashion House. This dress was everything and really made me feel like a golden goddess.
For the hair, Gibert soaked my hair with Loreal dry oil for over one hour to get that just-out-of-the-shower wet hair look. He then used gold bobby pins to hold my hair tight on the side and then put gold flakes all over the sides. I got the gold flakes from Amazon and we used two vials. We didn’t even need to use glue, there was so much product in my hair that the flakes just stayed on!
For my makeup, Ani used Makeup Forever Gold Metal Powder on my eyes. Cover FX Liquid drops in sunlight for my skin. We used Vita Liberata Trystals Minerals’ Self Tanning Bronzing Minerals. Anastasia Beverly Hills gold lip gloss that’s exclusive at Ulta and you can’t find anywhere else. I also used Dose of Color’s Supreme Glow Highlighter “Gold is the New Black” on my cheeks for that extra golden touch.
For my nails, I had La Par Nails do this fun metallic gold polish. To learn how to get the glitter gold nails, check out this video that I did with La Par nails earlier this month. Click here to watch the video.
And that is how I got my “Gold Obsessions” look that anyone can pull off. I always like taking trends and making it easy for anyone to use at home. Sometimes we see pictures in magazines and the trends look amazing, but hen you try it in real life and it looks horrible! This shoot was all about rocking 2017’s hottest color “gold” in a tasteful way. I really loved playing goddess for a day and I can’t wait to do more fun shoots like this for you guys. If there is a trend that you guys want me to try, please feel free to leave a comment below!
